2009 Leadership Lab Participants

AjPHA World Champions

The Junior Team consisting of Faith Onstot, Hope Onstot Shelby Leppin and Dylan Newson took the title of World Champion Overall Open Division Team at the American Junior Paint Horse Association World Championship Judging Contest held on June 27th in Ft Worth, Tx. The Junior Team also took 2nd place Halter Team, 2nd place Performance Team and 3rd place Reasons Team. Congratulations on an amazing year.

Seniors take 4th at the AjPHA World Judging Contest


The Senior Horse Judging Team consisting of Jessica Epps, Shane Newsom and Amelia Tanner place 4th over all at the American Junior Paint Horse Association World Judging Contest held June 27th in Ft Worth, Tx. The Senior Team was the 2nd place Halter Team, 5th place Performance Team and 9th place Reasons Team. Congratulations to all.

District 8 Horse Show Results

Congratulation to all of the Williamson County kids who participated in the District 8 Horse Show. The kids did a great job at representing our county, results are as follows:

BRINGING HOME THE HARDWARE!


The Williamson County Livestock judging team showed that
hard work does pay off.The teams participated in District 8 and Open Invitational at Tarleton State University this weekend bringing home an abundance of awards. The junior team of Chase Heffernan, Chris Barton and Lauren Verfuth were Champions in the Open and District 8 events. The
junior team of Dylan Newsom, Jacob Epps, Faith Onstot and Hope Onstot were Reserve Champions in both categories. A third team of Sterling Kothmann, Brandie and Dana Pruess
also competed well. The Senior Team also represented Williamson County well taking home third place. The Senior Team consists of Jessica Epps, Amelia Tanner, Shane Newsom and Kate McCarthy. Both teams are coached by Dustin Coufal and Lisa Onstot. In addition to winning as a team they also did well on an individual level with 22 individual awards ranging from 1st place division overall to 20th place overall. We wish you all good luck at State.

Livestock judging teams take 3rd and 4th at Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo


The Williamson County 4H Livestock Judging Teams continued to excel at the Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo. The Junior Team placing 4th is Hope Onstot, Chase Heffernan, Jacob Epps,Dylan Newsom and Faith Onstot. This team is coached by Dustin Coufal and Lisa Onstot. The Senior Team also did extremely well in this competition placing third in their division. The team consists of Shane Newsom, Amelia Tanner, Kate Mccarty and Jessica Epps. This team is also coached by Dustin Coufal and Lisa Onstot.

Congratulations to the Williamson County Junior 4H Livestock Judging Team for taking 1st place at the 2009 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo this year. What an amazing year for Williamson County 4H at the Star of Texas Fair & Rodeo





Williamson County 4H truly stood out in the show barn at the Star of Texas Fair & Rodeo taking both Champion Market Steer and Champion Market Lamb. The Williamson County 4H had a total of 13 placing animals.

2009 District and State Horse Show Validation

All 4-Hers interested in nominating young horses for the Futurity project and the District and State 4-H Horse shows need to validate thier horses by May 1, 2009. Each horse that you plan to show at the district/state show needs to be validated. To validate your horse project, you must fill out the futurity nomination forms, validation forms,provide a copy of the grade horse identification form/horse registration, and pay the 10$/per horse fee. Validation forms cam be found at the CEO, Williamson County Extension Office website at http://williamson-tx.tamu.edu, or thru Rob Hardy,Hoofpicks Club Manager. Senior Horse Judging Team takes Reserve Champion


At the 2009 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Horse Judging Contest the Williamson County 4H Senior Team took Reserve Champion. The team is also coached by Lisa Onstot and managed by Lucy Dunnehoo. The 2009 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo 4H and FFA Reserve Champion Team went to Sydney Leppin, Kristin Marshall, Chelsea Dunnehoo and Shane Newsom.

Junior Horse Judging Team Sweeps Houston




At the 2009 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo the Williamson County 4H Junior Horse Judging Team won first in their division. The team is coached by Lisa Onstat and managed by Lucy Dunnehoo. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo's Junior 4H & FFA Horse Judging Team Champions for 2009 are Hope Onstot, Shelby Leppin, Dylan Newsom and Faith Onstot.

Livestock Judging Team


The Williamson County Livestock Judging Team is competing at the Major Stock Show contests this season. Most recently we attended the San Antonio Contest. The Senior Team was 12 out of 210 teams and JEssica Epps was the 5th high individual. The Junior Team was 23rd out of 125 teams. We will keep everyone posted with results from our upcoming contests!

Ft Worth Sheep & Goat Show - Williamson County Results

We are back from the Fort Worth Sheep and Goat Show. Williamson County 4-H was represented very well.

A total of three goats and 21 lambs were exhibited. Here are the results:

Klay Davis (Florence) - 5th place goat
Seth Kircheville (Liberty Hill) - 2nd place medium wool, 6th place Southdown
Heather Klaus (Georgetown) - 5th place goat, 2nd place hair sheep
Kyntra Yates (Leander) - 2nd place cross, 1st cross, Reserve Champion Southdown
